Himachal Pradesh board of school education was established in the year 1969 and established under Himachal Pradesh act no 14 1968 and its first head quarter was formed in Shimla and later with amendments it was shifted to Dharamshala in January 1983. When this board was formed at that time there were only 34 officials in the board but then with time there number increased up to 438. This board not only conducts examination those are conducted for 10th class but also this board conducts examination for 12th class.
